Hang out with Soo and Kai… GN Dom volunteers!

When I decided to volunteer in the Dominican Republic little did I know I would learn so much about Korean culture- of all things! A culture so different from my own however one I’ve grown to love and respect. I can’t wait to get back to London and practise the few words I’ve learnt… (That’s for another video)!

Proof that the world really is a global village and volunteering is a great way to gain a truly unique cultural experience!

Here’s a taste of what myself and fellow volunteer and flat-mate, Soo get up to at the end of the day when the staff leave the office and we’re left to our own devices…

A tasty fusion of our cultures!

Are you following my student blog? The Educationally Frustrated Student

“I’m EF*ed - Educationally Frustrated!" And I’ve felt this way for a very long time… I’m part of a eurocentric Higher Education system that tends to forget that a student like me exists: Black, African, and Female. I’m under-represented from the lecture rooms, to the Media – the very industry I’m working to build a career in. And besides that, society tells me I can’t build a career as a journalist without a BA… www.theEFedStudent.wordpress.com
