A taste of Carnival in Salvador… Press pass access!

So I got my press pass in time for carnival!… Where there is a will, there is a way!

Yesterday I met Kwamy Hashid, an Angolan professional photographer (with perhaps the largest lens in the business!) who I accompanied throughout the evening into the night as we whizzed in and out of the parades working until 3am! Being press sure has its peaks!!!

My highlights were seeing Olodum (Spike Lee was there filming- I stood next to him!) and Bloco (street bands/parade) afro Os Negões! I was given abada (t-shirt worn by participants of specific blocos) which I customised fairly quickly!
